What is Wardrobe Storytelling

Wardrobe Storytelling connects the community through the memories we have with clothing and promotes sustainable fashion.

Whose clothing am I wearing? What places have my second-hand clothes traveled to? What array of feelings were felt while it was worn? Through written stories, people are able to discover the backstory of thrifted clothing.

Each item has a story tag, in which the former owner of a clothing item will write a story or memory.

Participants are able to donate, swap clothes, and read through the racks of hand-written stories. As you embark on your thrifting adventures, I encourage you to reflect on the memories woven into the fabric of fashion.

More About the Artist

My name is Florence Walton and I am an incoming freshman at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have interned at the Greensboro Project Space for three years and loved my experience.

Last year I had the opportunity to curate a project of my own, Wardrobe Storytelling, and I am excited to be back in the Greensboro Project Space to host the project again! I have always had a passion and curiosity for upcycling clothing, which inspired me to create Wardrobe Storytelling, to uncover the mystery of second-hand clothing.

Please feel free to directly message the project's Instagram account, keep informed about the progress of the project or to help spread the word by following/sharing @wardrobe_storytelling on Instagram!
