Alexandra Litaker ́s artistic work is grounded in a personal experience of movement and migration and is motivated by a desire to investigate relationships between place, ecology and identity. She is interested in exploring the parameters of women ́s autobiography in relation to drawing and performance within her work.
Alexandra received her BFA in Visual Art from the Iceland University of the Arts (2006). She earned her Masters in Art Education at Iceland University of the Arts with a thesis that intertwined the practice of artistic research with pedagogical study exploring the interrelationship of self and environment. She recently completed her MFA in Studio Art at UNCG. She has shown her work both in the US and internationally and has received grants including the Icelandic Artist Award and the UNCG Howard Award for Merit.
