I am fascinated by the delicious peculiarities of the everyday, and the unexpected proximity of disparate materials it generates. Like a frothy pink feather boa slung over a blossoming cherry tree branch on a Saturday morning, a banana nestled in a bowl of green tinsel on a shop counter.

In my work commonplace experiences are translated into curious objects and installations, which function as alternative worlds that demonstrate and relish the beauty and absurdity of reality. I explore the idea of multiple, contradictory realities, and hone in on the place or moment where the mundane becomes magical, exceptional or even impossible: fantasies that unfold from brick and mortar beginnings.

I use mass-produced and semi industrial materials, such as expanding foam and 2x4’s, to make immersive installations. Readily available, they are basic ingredients that are typically not visible in whatever they construct; in my work they are transformed, although their material origins are undisguised. In this way I hope to create imaginative and implausible new outcomes for familiar objects.
