Grateful Dead Cover Band Audition Tapes

Exploring the Limits of Music, UNCG’s Grateful Dead Cover Band

The counter culture music scene was one of the most influential elements of the 1960s, and the Grateful Dead embody the spirit of the San Francisco Bay Area’s vibrant 1960s counterculture. Their unique sound sprang from an eclectic blend of influences: bluegrass, folk ballads, R & B, free-form jazz, classical, and jug band.

Members of the UNCG community are invited to audition for a role and perform with a Grateful Dead Cover Band. If you’re interested in performing with all-star band of professional musicians and alum, send in your audition recording (preferably video) and save the dates November 17, 2018 (10 am-5 pm) for a live audition and February 9, 2019 (8-12 pm) to perform and explore the limits of music live, on stage.
