A collection of artworks made for thesis project "Contemporary Translations of Sienese Panel Paintings of the Trecento." The work explores repeated motifs and formal elements in altarpieces within the Sienese school of painting in the 1300s, such as the classic medieval parapet shape, arched doorways and windows, shifting perspectival planes, and the recurring salmon pink tempera pigment.
This work, in addition to a research paper, was completed over the course of one semester for the senior thesis component of the Disciplinary Honors program within UNCG's Lloyd International Honors College. Ink drawings, screen prints, cyanotypes, drypoint prints, gouache paintings, and work from other media will be on display. *Biscotti and cannoli will be provided*
